Surprise! League of Legends’ Newest Champion Revealed

Recently, Samira’s emote was teased in-game, which made players scramble to find out how to get the emote. Now, Samira is confirmed to be League of Legends’ newest champion, as revealed by Riot out of nowhere.

Otherwise known as the ‘Desert Rose,’ Samira is known as a “ruthless marksman” who can do both ranged and melee attacks. Awesome, right?

Samira has twin pistols as well as a huge sword, and we can see from the video that her moves mainly deal with dashing, whirling her blade around, as well as releasing a barrage of bullets at her enemies.

Samira is known to kill in style. In fact, she has a Style score which increases in rank as she attacks. Once she reaches the S Rank, she gets to unleash her most lethal ability. Also, Surrender @ 20 was able to data-mine more information about the newest champion a few days ago:

  • PASSIVE – DAREDEVIL IMPULSIVE
    Samira builds a combo by hitting Attacks or abilities unique from the previous hit. Each one increases her Style, from “E” to “S” grade (6 total). Samira gains X% Movement Speed per grade.

    Samira’s attacks in melee range deal an additional X magic damage, increased up to X based on the target’s missing Health.

    Samira’s Attacks against enemies affected by Immobilizing effects Knock Up for 0.5 seconds and deal damage over 6 separate attacks. Samira dashes into range against targets slightly outside her Attack range.

  • Q – FLAIR
    Samira fires a shot, dealing X physical damage to the first enemy hit. If this ability is cast towards an enemy in melee range, Samira will instead slash with her sword, dealing X physical damage.

    Either hit can critically strike for 25% bonus damage. If cast during Wild Rush, Samira will strike all enemies in her path upon completion.

  • W – BLADE WHIRL
    Samira slashes around her for 1 second, damaging enemies twice for X physical damage each and destroying any enemy missiles that enter the area.
  • E – WILD RUSH
    Samira dashes through an enemy or ally, slashing enemies she passes through and gaining Attack Speed. Killing an enemy champion refreshes this ability’s cooldown.
  • R – INFERNO TRIGGER
    Samira can only use this ability if her current Style rating is S. Samira unleashes a torrent of shots from her weapons, wildly shooting all enemies surrounding her 10 times over 2 seconds, each shot dealing X physical damage and applying lifesteal. Each shot can also critically strike.

This announcement definitely caught us by surprise, although we’re not shocked by the fact that Samira is the new champion. Still, we can’t wait to try her out and see where she fits in the rift.

Sacred Fire: A Psychological RPG Where Emotional Manipulation is Key

Not a lot know about Sacred Fire, and we don’t blame you! Way back in 2017, there was a Kickstarter by Poetic Studio which was very successful, gaining over $65,000 from a goal of $50,000. There have been constant updates about the game on the Poetic Studio blog, keeping the fans up-to-date with anything regarding the game.

Although it took more or less three years, Sacred Fire finally has a planned release date which will be this 2021. Not only that, the game finally found a publisher – Iceberg Interactive, which is why the game was included in the Iceberg Ahead event.

More than anything, Sacred Fire is comparable to a visual novel rather than your usual RPG adventure game. As such, it’s understandable that not everyone would appreciate it. Basically, you’ll be following a set of story beats and you’ll have to make decisions that can affect what happens in the game.

Each decision has a percentage chance as to whether or not you will succeed. This all depends on stats such as Fear, Anger, etc. For a quick overview, Sacred Fire is set in Caledonia, which is basically ancient Scotland, way back when the Romans ruled Britain.

What makes the game so interesting is how you play the game, relying on psychological decisions and manipulation. In other words, you have to manipulate not only your enemies but your allies as well in order to succeed.

You also need to have a clear head: controlling your emotions and outsmarting the enemies are the way to victory. It’s a game quite similar to Disco Elysium or The Banner Saga and some of the decisions you have to make will be under a time limit.

Your character is also customizable, and you can choose the statistics such as Agility or Endurance. Of course, just like any good game, the character you play won’t be perfect. They will have “Blocks” that will be like an obstacle in your gameplay, such as anger, trauma, addictions, etc. Your ability to resolve conflicts and form relationships will play a huge part in your success.

As mentioned, Sacred Fire won’t be available until 2021, but you can check out more information about the game on their official website, or add it to your wishlist via Steam.

More Information on Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’s Final Free Update

We finally have more information about Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’s final free update called Title Update 5. Scheduled to release on September 30, Iceborne’s free title update will once again feature another Elder Dragon that you can hunt.

Among its other new features are new gear, new events, and new characters. Title Update 5 will add Fatalis to Iceborne, a traditional black dragon that has “taken over the ruins of Castle Schrade.”

If you are able to defeat this new Elder Dragon, then you can craft new gear, weapons, and even a new outfit from the materials you can loot from it. By the way, the armor designs borne from the fallen Fatalis look badass! There are two sets, namely the α+ Armor Set and the β+ Armor Set.

Asides from Fatalis, a new Event Quest will also be released alongside Title Update 5. For this one, you are tasked to hunt the Arch-Tempered version of Velkhana. The official Monster Hunter Twitter account also tweeted the schedule for the upcoming new content, which you can see below:

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne isn’t the only thing that players can look forward to, though. After Title Update 5 gets released, there will be a new Autumn event that will take place. Featuring new Halloween-themed items and gear, the Autumn Harvest Fun Fright Fest will be ongoing from October 16 to November 5.

Capcom will also be hosting a “fest rush” before the release of the free title update. For this event, you will be given another opportunity to take part in the past Iceborne events leading up to the update’s release. There will be one event per week, so if you missed out on these events, don’t forget to do them now.

 

A Streets of Rage 4 DLC Is On Its Way, But No Confirmed Date Yet

The three groups behind Streets of Rage 4, namely Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games recently did an AMA on Reddit. Fans were able to ask questions that they’ve always wanted to know the answers to. One such question was about whether or not the game will be getting a DLC.

Fortunately, the CEO and executive producer of Dotemu Cyrille Imbert decided to answer this one and the answer is yes. Sadly, there’s no estimated timeframe yet as to when, but they definitely want to release new content for Streets of Rage 4.

Lead programmer of Guard Crush Games Cyrille Lagarigue also added on the AMA that they are currently considering adding new playable characters, but there hasn’t been a decision as to this just yet. A fan also asked about the possibility of a sequel and Imbert replied with:

“We haven’t discussed it yet but we’d like to first focus on SoR4 and continue to add content. But at Dotemu we are currently working on three unanounced similar projects, so stay tuned ;)”

Streets of Rage 4 was released in April 2020 for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch after how many years of waiting. This sequel to Streets of Rage 2 and Streets of Rage 3 brought back Battle Mode, which is a legacy in this franchise.

Battle Mode is what makes the game different from the typical brawler games, as it allows you to play in versus or team mode. As such, it turns the game into more of a competitive fighting title.

We’re super excited to see what the developers have planned for Streets of Rage 4. Whatever the new content will be, we’re sure to love it!

New Extended Trailer Released for Lovecraft-Inspired Game

An extended look at Call of the Sea has been released during Future Games Show. Although we were able to see a glimpse of the game during the first Future Games Show, this newly-released trailer gives us a sneak peek at the beautifully-done environment.

Call of the Sea is set in the 1930s, where you have to explore a forgotten island located in the South Pacific. You play as Norah, who is trying to find her husband who mysteriously disappeared on that very island. On this journey, Norah attempts to find out what happened to her husband and his crewmates.

There’s so much you can do in this game, which Game Director Tatiana Delgado has revealed to us in the trailer. For one thing, you can dive and explore underwater ruins, as well as discover ancient cities within the jungle.

Delgado also mentions that Call of the Sea is highly-influenced by H.P Lovecraft, who is known for his eccentric horror fiction.

“But as you can see, although our game is heavily influenced by his tales, Call of the Sea is a twist on the traditional H.P. Lovecraft works. We’re trying to focus on the surreal and the oneiric more than the horrific and the grim. In short, Call of the Sea isn’t a descent into madness but a rise to sanity. Losing your mind makes you see a dream-like, colorful world.”

Despite the fact that Call of the Sea takes inspiration from Lovecraft, the game doesn’t completely focus on the horror aspect of Lovecraft’s works. The developers wanted to focus more on the surreal.

Call of the Sea will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC later within the year.

Sea of Thieves’ Next Update Will Feature Dogs

Heads up, dog lovers! It has officially been announced by Rare during Gamescom 2020 that Sea of Thieves’ next content update will feature one of the most lovable pets in the world – dogs.

In the beginning, they released monkeys and parrots, followed by cats. It’s actually surprising that they didn’t release dogs first. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait very long, as the update is expected to be released in September.

Asides from Gamescom, the update was also confirmed on Sea of Thieves’ official Twitter account.

Just like the other pets, you can purchase the dogs using real money through the Pirate Emporium. After buying, you can choose your new pet to be your constant companion during your adventures.

Not only that, but Rare confirms that there will be different breeds available, so you’ll definitely have a blast choosing what kind of dog you want to have. You’ll definitely feel like you’re dealing with a real puppy, as they spin and wag their tails aggressively at you asking for a pat.

That being said, we expect that we can pet them too, just like the other animals available on Sea of Thieves. What we want to know, however, is whether or not we can launch them out to sea via cannon. Based on PC Gamer’s highly necessary research, there’s a high chance that you can. (No worries, though! No harm will be done to your beloved pet.)

On a related note, Rare’s Dev Gameplay Update video hints at the coming of a third voyage type for the Gold Hoarders. Their official Twitter account has also recently posted a teaser of a treasure-filled vault. We don’t have a lot of information about this just yet, but Rare says that they’ll eventually release more data in the future.

For now, there are two live events that you can participate in to kill the time as you wait for this exciting September update: Hunters of the Deep and Summer of Sea of Thieves. These events have you doing all kinds of tasks in the ocean in order to unlock equipment, emotes, and so much more.

These events are only up for a limited time, though, so feel free to do them while you still can. The Hunters of the Deep event ends on September 8, while Summer of Sea of Thieves ends on September 30.

Sony Might Bring More First-Party Games to PC

PC gaming has grown quite a lot this year, especially during the pandemic where kids and adults alike have to stay home. As such, online PC gaming is expected to continue rising and Sony wants to promote its own growth as well.

During Sony’s Corporate Report 2020, the company is considering the idea of bringing more first-party titles to the PC.

“We will explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform, in order to promote further growth in our profitability.”

Of course, this idea isn’t completely foreign to Sony. They have previously ported PS4-exclusive games to the PC, such as Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn. Fortunately, this implies that Sony’s sales are in good standing enough to consider porting their games, to begin with.

Sony didn’t mention which games will be ported to the PC and when, but they do acknowledge that competition in that area is quite high and that PC gamers aren’t going away anytime soon. After all, the games that are available to play on the computer have a higher market share than the ones on the consoles.

This news is a great win for PC gamers worldwide, especially for those who don’t have a gaming console. On another note, in case you didn’t know, you can register on Sony’s preorder page for a chance to be selected to preorder the PS5 early, so check that out while you still can!

15 PS4, Xbox One, and PC Games: Free to Play This Weekend

In the last week of August, several games in PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC can be played and owned for free within a couple of days. A number of these games are already free for quite some time while others will just be free on the weekend. However, all games can only be availed for free in a short period of time. To grab the opportunity, PS4 and Xbox One users will need a subscription to consoles’ online services. PC users, on the other hand, just need an account on the correct launcher.

Included in the games that are already available for a while now and are just being free for the weekend again are the Xbox Games with Gold titles and the PlayStation Plus games. The free games from PlayStation have been around throughout the month. Most of the Games with Gold titles, however, will be gone once August ends. Only one will remain available until mid-September.

Take note that the usual set of free games are available in both Steam and Epic Games Store marketplaces on this weekend. Xbox has also brought back its Free Play Days promotion which will run for the next few days.

Two of the most talked-about free-to-play titles are Predator: Hunting Grounds and Rainbow Six Siege. The former is offering a free trial for a few days while the latter will be free to try within all available platforms.

Fall Guys Popular Requested Feature Is Coming

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic confirmed that a much-needed feature will be coming in the future, probably during Season 2 or maybe Season 3. The new battle royale game took the Internet by storm. There was not a lot of hype surrounding the game, and the little that was going around was generated from the game’s beta. Now it is one of the biggest games in the world.

The success caught everyone off guard especially the developers. It is important to remember that a small team made the game. The developers are not familiar with making big blockbuster releases, like ones made by a huge studio pack full of content and features. Mediatonic needs to grow in order to meet the demands for the game because when Fall Guys launched last month, it was missing some features typically seen in many other online games.

One of the key features that Fall Guys lacks is the option of having private lobbies. Mediatonic has said that this feature is in the pipeline, it sounds seem like it is not a top priority on their list, partly because they have to figure out how it will work. It is unclear when to expect this feature to come, but it will likely happen sooner rather than later, if not purely out of necessity.

 

Rainbow Six Siege free to play on all platforms until September 4

Rainbow Six Siege can be downloaded for free and played until September 4. Any progress players make during the free trial period, which also includes access to all the maps and modes, will be carried over if the player decides to purchase the full title.

Ubisoft stated in May that the game had 60 million registered players an increase from last year’s September 2019 amount of 50 million.

Ubisoft is aiming to release Rainbow Six Siege for the PS5 and Xbox Series X when they launch this holiday season. Game director Leroy Athanassoff has stated that the development team at Ubisoft Montréal wants the title to be free-to-play one day.

Operation Shadow Legacy, which is coming in the launch of Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Season 3 will have a new operator, a familiar face for Splinter Cell fans, agent Sam ‘Zero’ Fisher.
