Sony Drops New The Last of Us Part 2 Story Trailer Dedicated to Abby

The Last of Us Part 2 has been out for nearly six months now, so fans wouldn’t expect the game to have any new trailers and the like. However, in a surprising turn of events, Sony has dropped a brand-new story trailer and it’s completely dedicated to the infamous Abby and her perspective of the game’s events.

That being said, new players or those who are still planning to get into the game should proceed with caution before watching the trailer because it has a fair amount of spoilers.

This new, Abby-centric story trailer begins with her bearing witness to Joel killing her father at the end of the original The Last of Us game. The trailer then fast forwards to the future, specifically to the events that take place in the sequel.

At this point in time, Abby only has revenge in her mind. What’s interesting is that this trailer provides a more sympathetic perspective to Abby and her story. This may be confusing to those who haven’t played The Last of Us Part 2 yet, but those who have made it halfway through the game will completely understand the purpose of the trailer.

There’s a big portion in The Last of Us Part 2 — this takes place more or less halfway through the game — wherein players are given the chance to take control of Abby. This part of the gameplay garnered polarizing opinions from fans, as expected.

Some fans liked this tidbit because it humanized the supposed “villain” in the game, letting players see that not everything is simply black and white and that beloved characters such as Joel and Ellie aren’t always in the right.

However, other plays weren’t happy that they had no choice but to play as a character that they disliked. As a result, they criticized the game for focusing on other aspects and straying away from characters that they cared about.

Even though Abby has been a point of contention ever since The Last of Us Part 2 was released, this new story trailer highlighting her character surprisingly hasn’t been flooded with hate.

Although it can’t be helped that there are a couple of mean or sarcastic comments here and there, there are also a handful of positive and amusing ones that are just trying to lighten the mood.

screenshot-www-youtube-com-2020-12-04-12_44_09

At the time of writing, the Abby story trailer has about 23k likes while there are only 12k dislikes. So, it might be safe to assume that the hatred many fans felt towards Abby has died down at least a little bit.

The hate surrounding Abby during the time The Last of Us Part 2 launched was incredible. In fact, gamers were already hating on her even before the official release because a massive leak took place and revealed a major story development, including a particular scene that fans just couldn’t accept.

Now that this trailer has been released, we wonder if the fans’ reception of Abby would have been different if they didn’t know about what she was going to do. In any case, we can’t change the past but it’s cool of Sony for not shying away from releasing a potentially controversial trailer.

Battlefield 3 Is Currently Free For Amazon Prime Subscribers

The Battlefield franchise has changed and improved throughout the years since its initial 2002 release, now becoming one of the most noteworthy multiplayer franchises in the industry. While not every game in the series was as well-received as others, it’s a franchise that’s generally known for releasing some pretty solid shooters.

This includes its amusing take on military FPS with Battlefield: Bad Company, and its portrayal of World War I in Battlefield 1. That being said, arguably one of the best titles in the franchise is Battlefield 3.

Fortunately for those who haven’t experience this game yet, Amazon Prime subscribers can get a copy for free right now. More specifically, members of Amazon Prime can claim an Origin code for Battlefield 3 on the Prime Gaming website. From there, simply choose “Games and Loot.”

After choosing that option, go ahead and scroll down until the Battlefield 3 option can be seen under the “Games with Prime” section. Interested players should definitely act fast, as this deal will only last until December 30.

hooah-jpg-adapt_-crop16x9-818p-1362347

As for those who were able to redeem their code, make sure to input the key in Origin before it expires on January 29, 2021. That being said, the free offer only includes the base Battlefield 3 game, so those who want to experience it with DLCs will have to buy them on their own.

In any case, we don’t expect that the game’s online mode will be overflowing with players, especially since Battlefield 3 originally launched in 2011. On the bright side, the first-person shooter has its own campaign, so interested players can still experience explosive gunfights even though the online servers are practically deserted.

The series’ plot revolves around a fictional war that takes place in 2014 between the US and the PLR, which is an Iranian paramilitary group. The story takes place in several locations and players get to experience the game from the perspective of numerous protagonists.

As for Battlefield 3 specifically, this third installment in the franchise is definitely one of the most popular entries. Despite the fact that it has somewhat been overshadowed by newer FPS titles, it can’t be denied that Battlefield 3 has a solid fanbase and did pretty well in terms of sales.

bf3-tank-01-jpg-adapt_-crop16x9-818p-7508252

That being said, Battlefield fans will be glad to know that the series will be releasing yet another iteration next year. Electronic Arts previously said that DICE is currently working on the next Battlefield game, and it’s allegedly going to be huge. The exact term used was “never-before-seen scale,” which honestly sounds exciting.

With the recent release of the new-generation consoles, 2021 is going to be full of games that take advantage of their upgraded and improved capabilities. It appears that developer DICE won’t miss out on all the fun, as well.

Until the next release though, Battlefield 3 is definitely a great game to play. For players who are able to take advantage of this amazing Amazon Prime offer, don’t hesitate to grab it as soon as possible and see why Battlefield 3 is considered to be an iconic title in the FPS genre.

PlayStation Teases God of War Kratos Skin Coming To Fortnite Season 5

It appears that rumors are suggesting that Kratos from hit franchise God of War will be the next huge third-party character to arrive on Fortnite’s Battle Island. Particularly, Kratos’s appearance will be based on the massively successful 2018 PlayStation franchise reboot of God of War, complete with his iconic beard and Leviathan ax.

The character will apparently be exclusive to PlayStation owners and will be joining a myriad of Marvel superheroes and villains as well as The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin as recent inclusions to the ever-expanding collection of character cosmetics. The recently unveiled fifth season trailer featured Fortnite’s cast of characters locate “Zero Point”, a way to allow the game to introduce many future guest stars from all of the entertainment multiverse.

As far as traversing across multiple gaming universes, this won’t be Kratos’ first cameo. Across various generations, God of War has been PlayStation’s go-to featured character in various franchises, as he has proven to be flexible for cross-promotion.

https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1334210728602054658?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1334210728602054658%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fscreenrant.com%2Ffortnite-kratos-skin-god-of-war-playstation-leak%2F

In fighting games, Kratos has been added in Mortal Kombat 2011 for the PlayStation 3 as well as PSP exclusive Soulcalibur Broken Destiny. He was also featured as a secret boss in Shovel Knight, became a preorder bonus for ModNation Racers, and even hit the birdie in Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds. Perhaps most significantly, he was one of the many heroes to fight in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, so he definitely got several non-God of War experience before coming to Fortnite.

While Kratos has not been formally introduced as a future skin, the teases have already started and the leaks are beginning to spread. The official Twitter account of PlayStation shared an “audio transmission” from Fortnite talking about a slayer of gods that sounds a lot like the start of God of War.

Furthermore, an advertisement showing a model of Kratos in Fortnite style, along with photos of his weapons, have leaked on the PlayStation Store in select regions, which is really hard to fake since it’s coming from various reliable sources such as reputable Twitter user and Fortnite leaker HYPEX. All evidence point to Kratos joining Fortnite sooner or later.

Obviously, Fortnite is not a PlayStation-exclusive, and the inclusion of Kratos opens a few questions as to its stand to other versions of the game. Fortnite already offers crossplay across all platforms which means that Xbox and Switch owners might be in a situation to fight along the side of Kratos.

In the case of games such as Rocket League, they could fight alongside a generic skin that stands in for the PlayStation-exclusive content. Fans will have to wait for further details about the crossover to know about this.

Developer Epic Games is slowly bringing the zealous dreams of Ernest Cline to life through Fortnite, but the development team is doing it in a way that feels a bit more legitimate than the Ready Player franchise ever could.

By bringing together various universes and characters into a lax narrative, Epic Games has managed to organize everything from a Travis Scott virtual live concert to an in-game showing of Inception to make sense alongside machine gun-carrying bananas and battle buses.

CD Projekt Red Announces Cyberpunk 2077 Release Times

screen-beautiful-and-deadly-en

CD Projekt Red and excited fans alike are preparing for the official release date of the highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. After years of development and experiencing several delays, the action RPG is set to release next week.

More specifically, Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be released on a day that’s currently considered to be an important day for gamers worldwide — December 10 — as it also coincides with The Game Awards 2020.

As soon as the game gets launched, players will finally be able to experience and explore the different regions of Night City, encountering the different kinds of people and even gangs.

In line with this, the game’s official Twitter account has posted a detailed map that shows when the game will be exactly released in the different parts of the world. To make it easier and less confusing for fans, the map not only shows the launch times but the specific timezones as well.

According to the tweet, Cyberpunk 2077 will be released at midnight GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) for both PC and Google Stadia. Console users, on the other hand, will be able to experience the game at midnight local time.

If viewed from their perspective, it seems that those gamers who reside in Los Angeles and other places that use the PST timezone will be able to play the game early on December 9 at 4 PM. Of course, this only applies to PC and Stadia users.

In addition to that, there’s also one detail at the bottom of the map that many players will definitely want to know: preload times. The reason for this is because CD Projekt Red previously announced that Cyberpunk 2077’s preorders are significantly higher than the preorders in any game from The Witcher franchise. As such, the game’s release times are consequently divided between PC/Stadia and the consoles.

That being said, PC and Stadia players will initially be able to preload the game on December 7 at 12 PM CET on GOG. Steam and the Epic Games Store will follow shortly after at 5 PM CET.

As for the console users, the preload times depend on the platform. Preloads will first be available to Xbox players on December 3 at 5 PM CET. The last ones to preload are the PS4 and PS5 players, as they will only be able to do so two days before Cyberpunk 2077 gets launched.

cyberpunk2077-passing_the_time_rgb-en-7897237

The fact that CD Projekt Red has released a pretty detailed look at Cyberpunk 2077’s launch times only adds to its overflowing hype. For the past couple of months, the developer has collaborated with a variety of brands to promote the game through Cyberpunk 2077-themed merchandise.

At this point, it’s practically impossible to ignore the game’s looming release. To get the fans even more excited, CD Projekt Red will be hosting something like a Cybernight event. Although, not a lot of information has been revealed about this event just yet, so that’s something worth keeping an eye on.

The game’s official launch dates may have been confirmed in Cyberpunk 2077’s tweet, but physical copies of the game have already been discovered in stores. Those who do happen to get a copy of the game early should avoid streaming it before its official release though or else the videos will be taken down.

Minecraft and Among Us Are Apple App Store’s Most Popular Games For 2020

Winners of the Apple App Store’s Best of 2020 were revealed a few hours ago with Minecraft and Among Us taking the top spot in crucial categories. Both titles have been around for some time – Minecraft initially launched on mobile platforms almost 10 years ago and Among Us back in 2018 – but the two titles remain famous until to this day. Among Us has been specifically notable this year as its fame unexpectedly soared years after its release, catching the imagination of a lot of players.

Another huge winner in Apple’s awards was Genshin Impact, which took home the Game of the Year for iPhone devices award. The free to play title managed to catch many with its Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild ambiance despite concerns that the game’s gacha mechanics would intimidate players.

Genshin Impact is far from struggling. As a matter of fact, according to a reliable source, the game is enticingly close to an incredible financial milestone. From the game’s launch back in September to the end of November, the game reached almost $400 million dollars in profit on mobile platforms alone.

Minecraft and Among Us joins Genshin Impact in Apple’s winners’ circle winning the categories for Top Paid iPhone Game and Top Free iPhone game, respectively. This year’s awards held by Apple commemorated apps that brought people from all over the world together and gave them the ability to have fun despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Apple’s Phil Schiller discussed this in a recent press release, revealing that mobile apps were specifically impactful this year and the games in these winning categories “delivered a great escape”. Focusing on this, Among Us is accompanied in the Top Free iPhone Games category by titles such as Brain Out while Minecraft shared the Top Paid iPhone Games category with educational and trivia based games.

Players can expect to see more awards before the year ends, with many looking forward to one of the video gaming industry’s most popular award shows next week. The Game Awards 2020 will be happening on December 10 and has already revealed a few interesting news.

Innersloth está preparando un sistema de cuentas persistentes en Among Us para atajar a los hackers

The organizer and host of the awards, Geoff Keighley, revealed in a Twitter post yesterday that one of the event’s presenters will be Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in the recent Marvel movies and is set to play Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted movie.

In related news, there are also rumors that Mediatonic, the indie developer who created Fall Guys, will also have something new to share during the event. Games like Minecraft and Among Us have been incredibly crucial this year with so many gamers affected by the global pandemic. It is great to witness these games getting appreciation for that.

Free Demos For Upcoming Titles Available Next Week As The Game Awards Festival Returns

tga2019_superhero_001-800x450

The upcoming The Game Awards Festival 2020 is following last year’s trend of providing fans across the globe the chance to enjoy and try out first-look demos of forthcoming games. Geoff Keighley, the host and the show’s organizer, worked with a few publishers and developers during last year’s festival to offer fans 12 free demos, each of which was made available on the PC through Steam for 2 whole days.

When Keighley introduced the festival during 2019’s celebrations, he discussed that the idea came to mind in an attempt to mirror an experience similar to a trade show like E3. In a press release made at that time, he mentioned that The Game Awards Festival was designed to widen “the benefits of a physical event to the global gaming community that watches The Game Awards.” Eventually, the event was a success, with fans across the world getting the opportunity to try out games such as Spiritfarer, Skatebird, Eastward, Roki, and System Shock.

Geoff Keighley announced the return of The Festival in a recent short Twitter post. However, as of writing, the host and organizer have yet to reveal the exact details in terms of the particular game demos that will be offered during the event.

Further, there is still no news on whether this year’s demos will once again be offered via an exclusive collab with Steam. Since The Game Awards actual show is just a few days to go, more details about these concerns and others should be provided in the coming days.

As Keighley’s announcement states, The Game Festival debuted before the coronavirus pandemic. Given this year’s situation, the offer of free game demos during a commemoration of games that can now be shown online is ideally suitable. Hopefully, this means the demos won’t be limited to Steam users this time around, allowing other consoles to take an equal part in the upcoming celebration.

Steam exclusive demos or not, there are still several other ways fans all over the world can take part in this year’s The Game Awards. First and foremost, voting is now open for a wide array of categories. Voting also opened for the Player’s Voice category.

Player’s Voice features 30 games in which fans must pick their top 10 favorites. On Friday, the list will be reduced to 20, opening the opportunity for players to participate in the second round of voting.

Fortnite Galactus Event Reached a New Record of Concurrent Players

0
maxresdefault-4-10

Fortnite has once again set a new record for the concurrent players joining in the recent end of season Galactus event. The legendary battle against the World Eater was the concluding event to Fortnite’s Season 4, although the surprise was already slightly spoiled by a leaked Galactus skin a few days before the event.

A few days prior to the epic conclusion of the Nexus War event, the Galactus skin set aside for the finale leaked online, revealing the precise exterior look of the major villain in Fortnite. The antagonist got a fairly threatening appearance, although Galactus did manifest some cartoonish features common for Epic Games’ battle royale title. Before the event began, players expressed that they are hoping that the leaked Galactus skin should be procurable for later use, but that would have gone against Season 4’s entire premise.

The finale battle against Galactus in Fortnite proved to be so prominent that Epic Games revealed a new record set by their gaming community. According to Epic Games’ tweet, there were 15.3 million concurrent players who logged in to take down the menacing villain.

This is the biggest online number in the entire game’s history, with another 3.5 million viewers participating in the hype while watching the final battle streamed live on YouTube and Twitch. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 ended in a legendary event featuring the World Eater who was attempting to attack and destroy Battle Island.

Fortunately, Iron Man came just in time with his latest invention to stop the archenemy, as players were granted the ability to fly countless myriad of modified Battle Buses right into the mouth of the world-devouring cosmic villain.

Fortnite’s entire Season 4 was completely based on Marvel superheroes and villains such as Wolverine, Iron Man, and Thor coming to the Battle Island to stop the assault brought by Galactus. The antagonist was on his way to destroy the whole island, while in the meantime, players worked their way to obtain various alluring cosmetics and hero skins. During the previous months, the Fortnite gaming community saw the coming of tons of additional Marvel characters such as Black Widow, Ghost Rider, and Daredevil alongside themed tournaments.

It appears like the partnership with Marvel significantly boosted Fortnite’s popularity which resulted in a new remarkable record. For a game that is now three years old fighting against a competitive and saturated battle royale scene, this is a superbly incredible achievement, which will be hard to beat – if possible at all.

New COD Warzone Map Rebirth Island Leaked in Black Ops Cold War

As players prepare for the launch of the first season of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War next week, a recent leak unveils Call of Duty Warzone is getting new content as well. Leaked photos of promotional content have been going around Call of Duty’s data mining community. Since its release a few months ago, Warzone’s F2P multiplayer has only featured a single map – Verdansk.

Warzone is set to receive an expansive collection of new content as part of the developer’s “classified Warzone experience” when Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season 1 kicks off on December 10. The photo that the developers issued via its promotional content featured a hint that sharp-eyed players instantly figured out.

The blurred text was not totally legible but players discovered the phrase “…eniya Island.” This clue is essential because it seems to refer to “Vozrozhdeniya Island”, which is the Russian translation for Rebirth Island.

https://twitter.com/BlackOpsLeaks/status/1333931236528517120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1333931236528517120%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fscreenrant.com%2Fwarzone-map-rebirth-island-cold-war-leak%2F

This map first appeared in the original 2010 Call of Duty Black Ops game as the setting of the main campaign mission having the same name, Rebirth, starts. There have been speculations that a new map would be added to Warzone and this new leak appears to verify those claims.

The recent leak came from a Twitter post by BlackOpsLeaks. The photos feature a new area cleverly named Rebirth Island. The image shows the Call of Duty Warzone logo as well as the phrase “Rebirth Island” directly beneath it.

Behind the title in the leaked photo is a small island with steep terrains and mountains. According to sources, it is still uncertain when the developers will disclose any new information about the leaked content.

While Activision has yet to confirm this, it seems likely that Rebirth Island will be a standalone map. Considering that Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War launched just last month, along with the upcoming release of its first season, it was always possible that Call of Duty Warzone would get a new map. Based on the leaked photos, the new map appears to be a lot smaller than Verdansk, which means fans who love close combat fights will love this change of scenery.

The leaked revelation of Rebirth Island comes during a busy time for Treyarch and Activision. Warzone is currently integrated with both Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare, with all three games joining in a brand new progression system that is distinct to the Call of Duty franchise.

All of the new content, cosmetics, and weapons included in the Black Ops Cold War full game are also available in Warzone. This same setting exists for Modern Warfare, despite all three titles taking place in various time periods.

With this in mind, it only makes sense that Rebirth Island is a new map since it is meant to coexist with the Cold War era. This would ensure a total crossover of weapons, gear, and outfits between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

Activision has made it certain that fans will have to wait before they will be provided more information about Rebirth Island. For now, the only clue they can rely on is the leaked photos.

Travis Scott Designed PlayStation 5 Currently In The Works

0
travis-scott-ps5-1024x576-2

Travis Scott has recently become an unorthodox brand ambassador for advertising companies such as Epic Games and Mcdonalds, and a recent collaboration with Sony might have resulted in a special edition PlayStation 5 designed by the rapper himself. Travis Scott is popular for his “go big or go home” personality, which appears to be working out great for him when it comes to his huge brand deals in the past years.

VIP rapper Travis Scott and other popular media brands are apparently separable today. Not because of chart-topping songs or any scandals, but due to the reoccurring utilization of his image to advertise some of the most dominant brands in the world.

During the beginning of 2020, the rapper was featured in one of the biggest online events in the history of video games when he held a live virtual concert in Fortnite. Leading up to the concert, players were able to purchase Travis Scott as playable character skin, and during the event, a colossal avatar of the rapper performed a few of his popular songs. A few months later, Travis Scott announced his partnership with McDonald’s, which featured his own meal, a very costly Travis Scott action figure, and a few funny “Cactus Jack sent you” memes.

1-7404676

Shortly after his collaboration with McDonald’s, the in-demand rapper posted an image of the PlayStation 5’s Dualsense Controller on his Instagram account with a caption that led many to believe that he had already received his own PlayStation 5 console.

The reason for the photo op may have been disclosed, as it has been confirmed that Travis Scott is Sony’s new strategic creative partner. What Sony plans to produce with Travis Scott is still unknown, but reports from reputable news sites claim that their deal might involve an exclusively designed PlayStation 5 console and probably even a video game designed by the world-famous rapper.

His partnership with Sony is foreseen to earn him $20 million or more, and an anonymous source revealed that “it’s a multiyear deal that could involve a cobranded console and perhaps even a game designed by Scott.”

travis-scott-getty-images-credit-gary-miller-5510693

It’s a known fact that Travis Scott is a gamer, at least to some extent. From playing Fortnite with Drake and Ninja back in 2018 to performing in his own Fortnite event this year, Travis Scott is surely using video games to widen his relevance and impact in pop culture.

While a Travis Scott designed PlayStation 5 could easily be branded by one of his albums arts or logos, it would be exciting to see what kind of game the rapper would make. His artistry with album concepts and the innovation of Astroworld proves that the rapper has everything it takes to make a truly one of a kind interactive experience.

Although this rumor is still unverified and groundless as of writing, it wouldn’t be too impossible to anticipate an exclusive Travis Scott console. However, a whole game designed by a rapper appears a little less probable.

Animated Wallpapers And Other New Features Added in First Xbox Series X|S Update

xboxseriesx-listing-03-640x356

A few hours ago the first major update for the Xbox Series X|S has been released, adding a few useful and exciting new features such as game ID tags and dynamic wallpapers. Microsoft’s next-gen consoles were finally launched last November 10, though, just like Sony’s PlayStation 5, fans have and are still struggling to secure the systems out of the hands of scalpers.

For those who were able to get their hands on the new consoles, Xbox has given fans a choice between the more powerful but more expensive Xbox Series X or the cheaper but a little downgraded Xbox Series S.

Both of these systems feature a few significant enhancements over the past generation including a considerable cutback in loading times and better visuals, as well as the ability to run almost every Xbox game ever through its backward compatibility. Now, the developers are integrating more functionalities to the Xbox Series X|S, although these aren’t as essential.

bkfds1ibyw_0_0_3000_2250_0_x-large-3308394

Yesterday, Xbox revealed its November 2020 update logs for their Xbox Series X|S, which adds new features small and big. These consist of animated wallpapers for the console’s dashboard, ID tags for games that use the Xbox Series X’s Auto HDR feature, badges to indicate which titles have been enhanced for the Xbox Series X, a new Game Activity menu where players can check their Achievements, and the ability to add additional accounts for family members during the initial setup. Players will now also be able to pre-download games ahead of their arrival to the Xbox Game Pass.

While the Xbox Series X|S has been critically acclaimed by those who were able to purchase them at this early stage of the next generation of gaming, there have been a few issues along the way. Aside from the shortage of supply issue, which is expected to continue until next year, the new Xbox machines are facing intense competition from the PlayStation 5, which has managed to surpass both of Microsoft’s consoles within the past several weeks.

xbox-series-x-console-top-first-look-scaled-9663014

Worse, fans have been reporting hardware problems such as bizarre noises and their systems shutting off randomly. In spite of these issues, Microsoft revealed that the Xbox Series X is the company’s most successful console release in history.

The November 2020 update for the Xbox Series X|S doesn’t contain anything specifically game-changing, but these new additions will absolutely make things simpler for fans to keep track of which games are compatible with the console’s remarkable visual improvement technology, set up various accounts for younger players, and even spice up their dashboard with cool new wallpapers. All of these new features are now available for download through the Xbox’s System Updates.
